I was initially influenced in hairdressing from our local hairdresser when I was a child. I would sweep the floors and clean while my mum was getting her hair done. I started my path to hairdressing at the age of 14 years. I worked Thursday nights and Saturday mornings at a salon in San Souci. I absolutely loved it and would practice on my families hair.
At the end of year 9 I was asked to start my apprenticeship as a hairdresser. I was thrilled to bits and couldn’t wait to start my career. I spent five years at the San Souci salon developing my skills in cutting and colouring; my favourite part of hairdressing.
A great memory of mine was attending TAFE at Ultimo in Sydney where I came first in the class for hairdressing. I was so proud and excited with this award because all of my hard work had paid off.
I then decided to follow my dreams and buy my first salon in Revesby and there have been several salons since.
After 30 years my passion is still looking after my clients and learning new skills. As they say, “you can never stop learning in life.”
When I’m not hairdressing I can be found most mornings working out and spending time with my three beautiful children and my wonderful husband.
Last but not least is my true love in life and hairdressing has allowed me this freedom.
